Marina Braginskaya’s clients recently purchased a 300 square meter cottage in Gelendzhik and promptly began renovations. By the time Marina came on board, the cottage had already been expanded with an additional floor and a swimming pool, yet it yearned for warmth and a touch of homeliness
The decision was made to combat the gloominess head-on by infusing the dark rooms with rich, vibrant color- a move that was in line with the owners’ desire for a more colorful interior. Drawing inspiration from the Soviet sanatoriums of the Brezhnev era, Braginskaya decided to embrace the building’s inherent austerity and transform it into a true brutalist masterpiece. This led to the addition of 1970s-style bas-reliefs on the facade and the use of geometric patterns as a key decorative element throughout the interior. These patterns can be seen everywhere, from the intricate grates on the stairs to the mosaic designs on the bathroom walls.
Art de Vivre rugs also play a significant role in this symphony of patterns and colors. A geometric pattern rug from the Art de Vivre DETALI collection, designed by Tatyana Golubitskaya, graces the floor of the media room. Meanwhile, an asymmetric striped rug from the Ted Baker collection adds a perfect touch to the nursery. Both rugs, complex in shape and multicolored, harmonize with the overall color scheme of the rooms. Their green hues blend seamlessly with the overall palette, while pops of pink add a refreshing twist to the atmosphere.
