Designer Kashin, a long-time acquaintance of the homeowners, was well aware of their quest for a property beyond the city limits. As soon as the opportunity arose, he eagerly joined the project. The country house, a relic from the early 2000s, boasted an excellent location but was marred by its inconvenient layout and neglected state. Consequently, Ivan, in collaboration with design engineer Dmitry Zverev, undertook a complete overhaul of the first floor, while the second floor was constructed afresh. The only remnants of the past were the foundational plinth and load-bearing structures.

As the project transitioned to the interior design phase, Ivan was keen on retaining the warm, homely aura that the house exuded, despite its many flaws. The public area was designed following the enfilade principle, with the preserved fireplace from the previous interior serving as the focal point. The furniture was symmetrically arranged, and wooden panels were introduced in the study and kitchen, adding a touch of tradition. However, Ivan consciously chose not to delve too deeply into historical aesthetics.

The living room's ambiance is defined by a large Nepalese rug. Handcrafted in the traditional manner, the rug sports a modern design that breathes life into the room. Its vibrant geometric pattern disrupts the room's perfect symmetry, injecting a dash of excitement into the interior. This pattern is echoed in other elements of the room - the spherical chandelier, the black and white cushions on the sofa, and a table resting on semi-circular supports. The result is a bright and somewhat provocative space that challenges the classic foundation of the interior, yet does not compromise on comfort.
