The collection features precise replicas of the renowned Polonaise rugs, originally woven in the 16th and 17th centuries. These valuable pieces were first crafted in Persian Isfahan, adorning palaces and showcasing the wealth of Eastern nobility, often serving as diplomatic gifts. In the 19th century, these rugs were mistakenly identified as Polish when they were discovered in a Polish aristocrat's collection, leading to their current name.

The original Isfahan rugs were woven from shimmering gold and silver threads, boasting a rich spectrum of hues and a vibrant pattern of colored silk, captivating with their splendor. However, much of the original appearance has not survived to the present day.

Skillfully recreated by Indian artisans, the designs of the POLONAISE collection mirror the transformations that the ancient masterpieces underwent over centuries. The colors, muted as if weathered by time, along with the noble patina and semi-worn antique pattern, lend the rugs an even greater sense of majesty, imbuing them with vintage charm and depth. The exclusive conceptual TECTONIC collection was developed by Alesya Medvedeva, lead designer of the Art de Vivre Rug Studio.
The inspiration behind the designs lies in the power and beauty of natural forces expressed through the movement of lithospheric plates. Each rug resembles a unique imprint of natural texture, preserving the bends and fractures of solidified rock. Intricate asymmetrical forms layer over one another, creating the illusion of movement.
Cool and warm tones merge into a unified palette governed by nature’s harmony, while the texture of dense matte wool intertwines with the smooth, flowing surface of art silk – much like solid stone meeting molten magma.
The richness of the palette and the variety of materials and textures are balanced by the clarity of the lines, allowing the designs to appear natural and visually refined.
The collection is an ideal complement to neoclassical interiors, eco-inspired spaces, contemporary minimalism, or eclectic environments, bringing depth and character to the interior.
