The exclusive conceptual TECTONIC collection was developed by Alesya Medvedeva, lead designer of the Art de Vivre Rug Studio. The inspiration behind the designs lies in the power and beauty of natural forces expressed through the movement of lithospheric plates. Each rug resembles a unique imprint of natural texture, preserving the bends and fractures of solidified rock. Intricate asymmetrical forms layer over one another, creating the illusion of movement. Cool and warm tones merge into a unified palette governed by nature’s harmony, while the texture of dense matte wool intertwines with the smooth, flowing surface of art silk – much like solid stone meeting molten magma. The richness of the palette and the variety of materials and textures are balanced by the clarity of the lines, allowing the designs to appear natural and visually refined.
